Dan’s signature cocktail

The Divorce

An espresso margarita: tequila + coffee + lime. Dark, bright, and dangerously easy.

Recipe

2 ozTequila (blanco or reposado)
1 ozFresh lime juice
1 ozEspresso (or strong cold brew)
0.5–0.75 ozOrange liqueur (Cointreau / Triple sec)
0.25–0.5 ozAgave syrup (to taste)
PinchSalt (optional)
Method: Shake hard with ice. Double strain into a coupe or rocks glass. Optional half-salt rim.

Notes / Variations

  • More espresso = more bitter, less “margarita.”
  • Reposado makes it warmer and rounder.
  • Swap orange liqueur for coffee liqueur (then reduce agave).
  • Add a tiny bit of vanilla or cocoa bitters (dangerously good).
  • Make it a batch: pre-mix everything except espresso; add coffee fresh.

The story

[Placeholder copy] A drink for when the night starts like a romance and ends like paperwork. Sweet up front, bitter in the middle, lime on the way out.

For Dan. Because some ideas deserve to be celebrated and some deserve to be shaken violently with ice.
